Situated in Perthshire, Perth has a population of 43,450 people according to the 2001 Census. It is known as The Fair City or St John's Town and sits on the banks of the River Tay. Another exciting day trip would be taking a boat trip on the River Tay where Dolphins have been known to swim by the boats. It is a famous Salmon river, with strong currents and is the seventh longest river in the UK.
There is plenty of shopping to be done with major stores in St Catherine's Retail Park and St John's Shopping Centre. Perth is popular for its Farmers and Continental Markets and has a variety of shops along the attractive streets of elegant Georgian terraced houses. There is a range of places to eat or take a break, with plenty of restaurants, Bistros, Cafes, Tearooms and pubs. For the evening entertainment there is the Theatre, Concert Hall, Nightclubs and pubs.
Dundee airport is 20 miles north east from the town, it would take about half an hour drive and runs daily charters to London airports. The closest ferry is located at Rosyth, about 40 minutes to the South by car.
