The town of Luton is located North of Gatwick airport a distance of 71 miles that would take around 1 hour 18 minutes by taxi via the M25 and M1. It is situated in Bedfordshire and has a population of 205,900 according to 2010 Statistics.

The origins of the town can be traced back to Paleolithic encampments that were found at Round Green and Mixes Hill thought to be 250,000 years old. The Saxons founded an Outpost in the 6th Century on the River Lea. In the Middle Ages Luton was recorded as having six watermills, and around this time the manor was granted to a soldier of King John as a gift for his services. In the 17th Century Hat Making became an important feature of the towns economy that continues to this day.

There are various things to do of interest in and around Luton, it is located in the Eastern part of the Chiltern Hills which is a beautiful place for walking, cycling and outdoor pursuits. The town has a diverse selection of multi cultural restaurants, with Bury Park being the main area to find some of the best indian cuisine. There is a museum, theatre, shopping centre and parks such as Wardown Park and Stockwood Park which have leisure facilies, gardens, golf course, rugby pitches and open spaces to enjoy.
