Stanstead Airport is 30 miles North of Enfield, this journey normally takes 55 minutes, depending on traffic which is a law unto itself in London.

Enfield is the most northerly bourgh of London. It dates back to the Domesday Book, where irts name probably originates from - an area of open land where lambs where raised, and this was owned by man called Eana. Early in it's history Enfield was a small town on the edge of a forest, which would later be used as a Royal Hunting park in the Middle ages. In more modern times it has been a centre for manufacture and engineering. The first Dishwasher and colour TV were both manufactured in Enfield. Interestingly it is the first place in the world to have boasted an ATM cash machiene! This was officially opened in June 1967.
