The next page will display a list of possible transfers and prices. All you have to do is choose your destination and type of vehicle and click on the button at the bottom. This will take you through to a booking page with A2B Travel. Simply enter your contact details, and the details of your transfer. Then read the terms and conditions and click to accept them. You will then be taken through to a secure payment site to pay.

Just like an OTS transfer, you will be sent an electronic sales voucher with your driver’s number on. On landing at your chosen destination, just call the number and the driver will come to meet you. Then all you need do is enjoy your holiday in the knowledge that everything is organized for your return.

In the UK, you can choose the type of vehicle you would like, saloon cars, estates and people carriers, to take you to the airport. We can then arrange your onward travel from your destination airport and return. Upon your return to the UK, you can choose a “meet and greet” option, where your driver will collect you from the arrivals hall with your name on a sign, or simply call the driver! All the information you need will be on the booking sheet.

Zakynthos Airport – Dionysios Solomos (ZTH)

Dionysios Solomos is located close to the town of Kalamaki and welcomes 300,000 visitors per year. The airport is roughly 20 minutes (6KM) from the capital of Zakynthos town and other seaside tourist destinations such as Lagana, Tsilivi and Kalamaki.. It is quite a small airport therefore no planes are permitted to land or depart during the night.

Travelling to and from the airport

Taxi- This is the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to make your way to the capital. Taxis are available and it is only 1KM to the beach resorts of Laganas and Kalamaki from the airport.

Public buses also run frequently to/from the airport but the best manner to reach your hotel is by taxi.

Climate

Greece is perfect for those who enjoy the sun, as for over two thirds of the year the country basks under clear, sunny skies. Summers are long, dry and hot with highs of 37°C (99°F), making the yearly mean temperature about 17°C (63°F). But for those not overly fond of the heat, who would prefer a more relaxing and serene holiday experience the mountainous areas offer a cooler and more calm environment.

You can fly out to Zakynthos from many of the UK airports. Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester, Newcastle and Norwich airports all provide this service.

Zakynthos Island can be reached by plane from almost all the international airports, via the airport in Athens. It takes about 45minutes to fly from Athens to Zakynthos by Athens Airways (ZF) and Olympic Air (OA) .

In 2008 a brand new airport was opened to replace the smaller older one, which was struggling to cope with the increasing arrivals and departures. The airport has greatly improved due to the spacious new arrivals and departure areas making the whole process of passengers much quicker and efficient. However, here can be congestion at times due to planes having to land close together but both the arrivals and departures areas are fully air- conditioned and the departures area has a snack bar and duty free shop.

Accommodation

There are many beautiful hotels and villas to choose from when you reach your destination. Traditional Villas Therianos Zakynthos are ideal for business and leisure travellers to reside in. They are set in amongst the greenery of the Zakynthian vineyards in the village of Kallithea .They offer excellent access to many attractions around the area .The rooms are very stylish and modern and also cater for physically challenged guests. The accommodation does not have any restaurant facilities but is close to a lot of restaurants in the local area. They are happy to cater for young children as well as they have a play area that you can explore at your leisure. The staff are very helpful and friendly and are more than happy to help you along with any information you need about the city and its attractions.
