Terceira-Island Airport Transfers

Terceira-Island Airport Taxi service is provided by Onward Travel Solutions Ltd. By working with A2B transfers we are now able to provide transfers for you to and from Terceira Airport to most local resorts, towns and cities.

Upon landing at your chosen destination, call the number provided and the driver will come to meet you. Then you can sit back and enjoy your holiday in the knowledge that everything is organized for your return.

In the UK, you can choose the type of vehicle you would like, saloon cars, estates and people carriers, to take you to the airport. We can then arrange your onward travel from your destination airport and return. On your return to the UK, you can choose the “meet and greet” option, this is where your driver will come in and collect you from the arrivals hall with your name on a sign, or simply call the driver on the number that has been provided for you to find out where they are waiting! All the information you need will be on the booking form and hopefully this will answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

Terceira-Island Airport – (TER)

Terceira-Island Airport/ Lajes Field provides support to 15,000 aircrafts including fighters from the US and 20 other allied nations each year. The geographic position has made this airbase strategically important to both America's and NATO's war fighting capability. In addition, a small commercial aviation terminal handles scheduled and chartered flights from North America and Europe, especially mainland Portugal.

Travelling to and from the airport

The best way to get to the main town is by taxi or by rented car.

There is also a bus service that runs to the town.

Climate

Portugal has a diverse climate from north to south; in general winters are mild, summers hot, while spring and autumn are warm with strong winds and frequent rainfalls. The central regions have a mixture of Atlantic and Mediterranean elements: mild winters with temperatures averaging 15 degrees centigrade and hot and dry summers with temperatures over 30 degrees especially in the inner regions, whilst the breeze from the Atlantic cools the heat in the coastal areas. In Azores, temperatures are around 18 degrees in winter and the mid twenties in summer with frequent rainfall.
