The first recorded uses of the name occur as Slo in 1196,it became a cross roads for peole travelling from London to change horses. During the First World War army vechicles were repaired there till in 1925 the Slough Trading Company Act was passed allowing the establishment of the world's first Industrial Estate. Rapid growth insued, and Slough became a hub of activity.
