Farnham is a Town in Surrey and has a population of 37055 according to the 2001 Census. It is 24 miles from Heathrow airport to the east, and would take around 30 minutes in normal traffic conditions.

Farnham is a popular and busy town with a mixture of modern culture and history dating as far back as the Tudors, with examples of architecture still remaining in the buildings of the town. Farnham Museum is itself in a Georgian House, each room displaying the towns history. Overlooking the town Farnham Castle is a popular visitor attraction that is administered by the English Heritage and open for tours for most of the year. The ruins of Waverley Abbey are 3 miles out of town and was Britain’s first Cistercian Abbey but was surpressed by Henry VIII in the 15th Century. Set within the Surrey Hills Farnham is an excellent place to take a country walk and to look out over the stretches of fields and woodlands. There are two carnivals held in the town in June annually, featuring a street fayre and procession.

Farnham is also known for its University Farnham UCA that specialises in Art & Design, Media and Communications. And there are Galleries, Antiques, crafts and Pottery centres in and around. The High Street is lined with Old Fashioned shops unique and privately owned perfect for the individual wanting an alternative to what commercial shops offer. It regularly holds a Farmers Market, Country Market and Maltings Market featuring arts and crafts.
