Alton towers iS just 38 miles South East of Manchester International airport. It takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to travel there in standard traffic along the A523.
Alton towers is situated in Staffordshire. It is just 24 miles north-east of Stafford, 14 miles east of Stoke-on-trent and 20 miles west of Derby.
Alton towers opened as a theme park in 1980 and is currently owned by Nick Leslau. The park saw almost two and a half million visitors through its gates in 2007 making it the most popular theme park in the UK.
Alton towers is most known for its major attractions such as the rollercoaster s Nemesis and Oblivion and it has been attracting thrill seekers for many years. The park offers about 125 attractions ranging from water rides to live shows.
The park manages to entertain a wide range of guests from corporate meetings to educational school visits and family outings. It has a conference centre which holds up to 500 delegates and the stateroom which offers a dining space for 400 people.
The park has two hotels on the premises which contain a total of 391 bedrooms all of which are themed! Whilst being a great day out it is also renowned for its award wining spa which offers complete relaxation for all delegates the spa contains relaxing saunas, steam rooms and meditation rooms.
